What is IAP
Ihas Africanos Project aka IAP is an mod pack set in an alternate timeline on a fictional chain of islands off the West Coast of Africa.
The intent is to provide a new theatre for the Arma3 game and an alternate unconventional OPFOR. Unconventional in the sense that it would not be the traditonal cold war inspired East vs West conflict and equipement.
The Factions
BLUFOR - IA Government forces (IADF) consisting of Defence Force, Coast Guard and Federal Police.
OPFOR - African Security Alliance (ASA) - An occupying coalition force made up of many african nations.
GUEFOR - Multiple insurgent groups using a mix of weapons and improvised threats
PMC - Private Military Contractors brought in by the oil companies to prtect their investment.
The Story
Without revealing too much, the concept is set in 2025. The Ilhas Afrincanos island nation discovers a huge oil and gas deposit inside their territorial waters. There is a sudden influx of money into the nation together with several competing international interests and factions from both Europe and Africa.
A rise in civil unrest occurs with increasing acts of insurgency.
The situation deteriorates, the ASA invade Ilha Marrom claiming they are a Peacekeeping and Stabilisation force acting on behalf of the New (insurgent) Goverment Council
The Islands
There are 3 main islands and 6 smaller ones of varying sizes

- Main Island, seat of Government
- Some Industry, mining and several large ports

- Two large islands with a third smaller Island to the East
- Large Oil Terminal

- Large sand bar type island with oil facilities
- Offshore Wind farms and oil rigs

Inspiration
The islands, feel and biome were inspired by Cape Verde, with influences from the Canary Islands and West Africa.
The Military and Force makeup comes from several African UN operations and National ORBATS
